Sun, sand and Star Wars in Tunisia

June 19, 2008

Mos Eisley set - moisture vaporator during sandstormSeveral members of the BYP team enjoyed a trip of a lifetime to Tunisia this April to visit all the Star Wars locations in sunny (and sandy) Tunisia. A great adventure was had by all and we brought back hundreds (nay, thousands) pictures of sets featured in many different parts of the Star Wars saga. Sadly, many of the sets are in a desperate state of decay.

Not to mention, of course the memories we have of a great trip, which was organised as part of Finding the Force (aka Darren’s Damn Fool Idealistic Crusade). From sunsets overlooking the Ben Kenobi house on Djerba, to hair raising night-time multi-hundred mile car journeys on Tunisia’s “interesting” roads.

I’ve been a bit slow on the photos front, but hope to have some processed and ready to upload very soon, and no doubt, Darren will want a Finding the Force locations calendar for 2009!
